Lens flare

Lens flare can be very beautiful in a photo. It can give a nice vintage look. I tried to get some soft flare in these pictures I made with my Sony A7 ii and helios44 manual focus lens. I bought a m42 to Sony NEX adapter for just 2 euro's. That way I can use my old m42 lenses on my Sony.

I tried to keep this as vintage as possible.

I used extension tubes to get in close enough for a macro shot.

It's very difficult to focus into the sun, manual focus will help a lot.

I used a helios 58mm f2 for these pictures. I don't have a hood for this lens so the flare comes in very easily, but to much flare will ruin the picture. I shot these pictures wide open.
