Travelling

I really love to travel and see nature and other people's culture. What better way to take pictures.

No matter what country i visit, i always get amazed by the most beautiful landscapes.

No matter where i am, i always try to capture the feeling I have at that moment.

The thing i love the most about making pictures when i travel, is making portraits. I Always look for people that can tell a story about their country.  I really love to see the culture of the countries i visit.

Which lenses do i take with me when I travel?

My Nikon 18-105MM f3.5-5.6 VR  lens is my favorite allround lens. It's perfect for most situations and when I don't want to bring all my lenses with me because of the weight, this lens is perfect. You can use this lens for landscapes and buildings because of the 18MM focal distance. But it's also good for portraits and other things you want to photograph.

Only when it's getting dark, the lens won't be that useful. Then I will use my favorite lens of all. The Sigma 1.4 50MM.

I only took my DSLR with my Nikon 18-105 with me on a mountainbike trip through Bali, because i didn´t want to ride with a bag full of lenses.

If there is enough light, even if it's dark. The 18-105 is still a good lens.

This lens is perfect for landscapes. 18MM is  great for landscapes and buildings.

My Sigma 50MM f1.4 EX DG HSM  is perfect for portraits because of the focal length and DOF and is very good when it is already dark because of the 1.4 aperture. The Sigma is a bit heavy for a prime lens, but I choose quality over lightweight lenses. If it's dark and I want to photograph, I only take this lens with me because there is no other lens (I have)  that is better. It's a great lens for almost everything, but not for landscapes and buildings. Also not when you want to get really close to something. Then I use my telelens.

We went to Monkeytown in Ubud when it was already a bit dark. The Sigma 1.4 had no trouble making razor sharp pictures.

This lens is perfect for portraits. If i go to a place where there are a lot of interesting people to photograph, i Always take this lens with me.

Did i already mention this lens is amazing when it's dark? And i love the bokeh of the Sigma lens.

My Nikon 70-300MM f4.5-5.6 VR  is a 105-400MM on my DX camera. It's great if you want to take pictures of wildlife, animal and insects that are far away. It's also great if you want to 'frame' a small part of the picture. So leave the side of what you see out of the picture. Focus on a small part, want you really want to show in your picture. For example a portrait of someone who is far away. This lens is also fast when the light is good.

This lens is also great for when you see people in streets. Like the paparazzi.

This is also a nice Macro lens, if the object is at a great distance.
